KAMI The Movie

Caught it @ METROWEALTH CINEPLEX, KUCHING
Its 1 HOUR & 5o
MINUTES of TEEN CONFLICTS!!
You should catch it because you LOVE THE S
ERIES, AND YOU WANT TO RETHINK ABOUT YOUR LIFE.
You should not watch this movie if you THINK
MALAY MOVIES ARE LAME.

If you love One Tree Hill, then this is sort of a Malay version of it. Maybe comparing it to One Tree Hill might be a little to much, but the plot and the story line does reflect on the infamous teenage series from the US. The story overall reflects how teens today cope with family issues, friendship, social interest, and drugs, and how they generally take life for granted, but treasure friendship more than their own family.

The acting was adequate, and there was a few introduction of Malaysian indie groups here and there. Nonetheless, the recording of these indie groups was kind of awful, making the songs sound too noisy and distorted. In addition to that, the song selection was horrible, and did not match the scenes appropriately, making it hard to have the feel and the sentiments of any scene.

I think adults would be worried to see the way teens behave in this movie, as it does show how teens could easily get involved in all sort of things including drugs.... but that is the hard fact of life these days, and I'd say that whom ever does not understand teens these days should give this movie a watch. Overall, its not one of the best malay movies this year... but its worth a look at.
